 13th May 2011 Avery Dennison

New Avery Dennison print and apply labelling solution debuts at Interpack

New generation system accelerates performance and improves productivity

Harlow, UK, 10th May 2011 - Avery Dennison Retail Branding and Information Solutions, the leading global supplier for retail and industry branding and information solutions, will unveil the new ALX 73x series, the new generation of print and apply labelling systems, at the Interpack show in Düsseldorf 12-18 May. This flexible, high-speed modular print and apply solution integrates into existing manufacturing capabilities to improve operational efficiency on high-volume production lines.

According to Avery Dennison, the accelerated performance provides a more immediate Return on Investment (ROI) and reduced Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), making the ALX 73x the lowest Total Applied Cost (TAC) solution on the market*.

The ALX 73x series offers a wide range of benefits for many types of industry, such as food, pharmaceuticals and chemicals. Using near edge print head technology, the ALX 73x can reach a speed of approximately 400mm per second, keeping pace with the fastest production lines..

The system uses larger rolls of labels and foil, which reduces production downtime and overall cost with fewer time-consuming roll changes. Additionally, the sustainable foil save function can help to reduce environmental impact by only using the amount of ink that is needed.

Geert Jan Kolkhuis Tanke, Labelling and Print & Apply Product Manager at Avery Dennison Retail Branding and Information Solutions, said: “We created the new ALX 73x series print and apply units as part of ongoing commitment to accelerate our customers’ performance while reducing overall costs.”

Les Grands Chais – Loire is one of the world’s leading French wholesale wine and spirits merchants and an early adopter of the ALX 73x. Prior to implementing the new system the company had been using a range of Avery Dennison solutions for wine production and packaging.

Olivier Truchot, technical director at Les Grands Chais – Loire, said: “Avery Dennison worked closely with us to understand our needs and supply us with a solution which is able to improve our marking operations. The ALX 73x has enabled us to optimise our productivity and both start-up and operational times have been reduced.”

The new ALX 73x series offers three print widths – four, five and six inches – and is manufactured to the highest specification by Avery Dennison, providing customers with a reliable and robust product with proven firmware. The standard interfaces and mounting option offer users enhanced integration flexibility as the system communicates with all network environments.

Avery Dennison will be presenting the ALX 73x series, along with other innovative packaging solutions that accelerate performance at manufacturers production lines, at Interpack, Hall 16 - Booth C08, from 12 -18 May 2011 at the Düsseldorf exhibition centre, Germany.
