Trends in Pharmaceutical Deal-Making

The downturn in economies as a result of the credit crunch has had a marked impact on the pharmaceutical industry. Fewer deals are being made and even cash-rich companies are being more careful with their investments. When they choose to engage in risk-sharing deals however, they are ready to pay more, in turn creating a polarised biotechnology sector with a shakeout of less attractive innovation.
