As an autumn chill descends, most are looking to conserving their energy and begin preparations for the winter. However, in true pharmaceutical manufacturing fashion, the companies in this edition of IPT are doing anything but slowing down!

Our stand-out topics in this edition are Digital and Manufacturing, with conversations around the myriad uses of AI, and the best ways to work to ensure compliance with pharma manufacturing regulation, dominating the pages. TaBlitz discusses the use of AI in tablet design (page 34), while Sapio Sciences highlights the trifecta of a digital lab: data, AI and the cloud (page 43). But while AI seems like the ‘Tool of the Hour’, Reltio warns of the serious problems that can arise with AI hallucinations (page 38).

Also within manufacturing, Natoli showcases its newest capsule filling machine (page 18), and Broughton talks to IPT about the importance of stability studies (page 28). IFS Ultimo raises the crucial elements of time and money within manufacturing, and how these can be optimised (page 20). Schneider Electric discusses the benefits of advanced monitoring techniques for regulation aids (page 24).

Looking to events, IPT autumn features a preview of CPHI Milan, happening in October (page 50), while EMC looks back with us at its successful 2024 event which took place in August (page 32).

We hope you enjoy this latest edition of IPT!
